Maybe this is your first time to hear about the Rocky Fellers, they are a pop/rock band composed of a Filipino family. They are the first Filipino band to hit the said chart. Before the Jackson 5 and the British wave, The Rocky Fellers was known in the US and here in the Philippines in the 1960s but they just faded quickly from the music scene in the mid-1960s, due primarily to the arriving British Invasion bands.
The Rocky Fellers were discovered by Stanley Kahn, and signed them to Scepter Records. The group was composed of Tony, Junior, Eddie, and Albert Maligmat, and their father, Doroteo "Moro" Maligmat. Their hit single "Killer Joe" which reached the No. 16 spot of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in April 1963 was written by Bert Russell and Bob Elgin. They followed it up with the song "Like the Big Guys Do".
